Missions Work in Jamaica

Pete and I have friends who are missionaries in Jamaica. We always joke about them having to “suffer” for Christ…in Jamaica! They laugh at this….and yes, we do know that their life is not the easiest even if they are in Jamaica.

I would love to go visit them for a short term missions trip. They help with a school for the deaf and of course, those of you who know me well, know that the Deaf are near and dear to my heart. Gus was bilaterally-profoundly deaf and if he were still with us today, we’d be signing with him and getting ready for a Cochlear Implant. I would love to spend some time there signing with the Jamaican children and sharing the Gospel with them…what an honor!

I’m not sure how much it would cost to actually do this but I have found a small Christian company that helps with missionary travel. Golden Rule Travel is ran by former missionaries so these folks would certainly know all the ins and outs of traveling to Jamaica to do missions work. This company also has specialists available who understand adoption travel! I think Golden Rule Travel is a good place to start if you are planning a missions trip! Neat!!
