Thursday Thirteen: 13 Reasons Why I Left the 4th of July Festivities

13 Reasons I Left the 4th of July Festivities

  • 1. It was hotter than Henry’s crack!
  • 2. I’m not eating a lot of sweets right now….and the funnel cakes were too tempting!
  • 3. We didn’t have any of those fold up canvas chairs
  • 4. I couldn’t find the people painting faces…and I really wanted a frog or bug or something
  • 5. Did I mention that it was hotter than snot?
  • 6. And my hair was stuck to my forehead
  • 7. And there was a river of sweat running down my chest…I know lovely…
  • 8. My Sno-Cone was gone
  • 9. There was a fabric sale at Yates Remnant Store and I didn’t have money
  • 10. There was 45 more minutes to wait until the parade started
  • 11. I realized that the parade would be a bunch of cars with city officials waving…boring…
  • 12. I remembered that the man who belly dances in the parade has retired
  • 13. Did I mention that it was so hot that it felt like hell was rolling in?

Wow, sounds like a hot day! :) I don't blame you for leaving -- I'm not a big hot weather person, either, LOL.

Happy TT, and thanks for visiting mine! Have a great holiday weekend.

Hotter than snot. Now there's an image LOL...

I'm with you on the funnel cakes, I don't think I could have withstood the temptation either.

Happy TT.

I get the picture! ;-) Can you please send some warmth over here? For summer it's way too chilly!
Thanks for visiting my handfasting TT!

Heat is a bummer when you want to be outside...

I know what you mean about the parade. The first year we were in our house there was a parade that went down our street. It was nothing other than cars, tow trucks, firetrucks, tractors, even a funeral hearse.Of course everyone waves. I stood there thinking what in world am I looking at?

How Funny! LOL! By the way...how hot is Henry's crack? ROTFL!!!

Yeah, how hot is Henry's crack? LOL! I didn't go either. Why do I need to torture myself through the heat and traffic just to spend 20 minutes watching a bunch of fireworks that really don't thrill me anyway?!!!! I stayed home and watched my rebel neighbors shoot fireworks. It was free, no traffic, I watched them from the porch in my pj's, and all I had to do to get home was walk inside!

OMG I loved it. I giggled over the hotter than Henry's crack. That's a new one on me.

I would do the same if I have to wait that long for the parade to start on a hot summer day.

Thanks for stopping by and for welcoming me at TT!

I didn't go to any celebrations yesterday. We had a friend over for a BBQ and that was fun enough. It was hotter than blazes here too. Happy TT.

LOL #1, 12 and 13.

I think I would have left too if the Belly dancing guy retired too!

Happy TT and hope you had a happy 4th.
