Two Heads But No Tail....

I was reading some news over at Fox News and I came across this little bit of info about a two-headed turtle. It's a Red-Eared Slider and was sold to the pet store where it is now living for an undisclosed amount of money.

Two heads, two front legs...but not tail. Hmmm...how does it get rid of waste? These are the things they don't tell you and these are the things we need to know! lol! Sheesh!

I'm actually involved in the reptile keeping community (the hobby is called herpetoculture) and you'd be surprised how many two headed snakes and turtles there are. It seems to happen less often with lizards and crocs/alligators.

That's a really tiny two headed/bodied turtle. I'd suspect that if there isn't some kind of hole on the lower shell that they can't get rid of their waste and if that's the case they won't live long at all. Unfortunate. :(
