FREE Chore and Allowance System

There are many different view points on chores and allowance...some families give allowances weekly so that their children can learn about money management and then some families pay allowances based on what the child has earned through chores. Either method is fine...you need to use the method that works best for your family! We feel that our children have certain responsibilities because they are part of the family...taking out the garbage, loading the dishwasher, etc are jobs that need to be done and we all are responsible for these jobs. Our children don't get paid for these jobs but they do have the opportunity to be paid for extra jobs like mowing the yard, helping clean out a closet, washing the car, etc. I have always struggled with the best way to keep up with all of these jobs and the payments but I think PayJr may have the solution...and it's FREE!!

PayJr. has offered a free Chore and Allowance System that allows the parents to set up jobs and payment schedules, print out chore charts, track "balance owed" and review chores with each child. There is also a section for financial education that is chocked full of links that discuss how to teach your child about personal finances. This free service is for your younger children...12 and under.

For your children who are 13 and older, there are Visa Buxx which is a re-loadable prepaid Mastercard. This service teaches your child about personal financial management while allowing parental control and monitoring. I also like this re-loadable prepaid card idea because your child is less likely to loose his money! We have had that happen several times here and it's not fun!

Be sure to check out the CEO's blog and the educational links for lots of good ideas and insight into teaching your child about personal financial management.
