Do You Use "Plastic"?

I have real mixed feelings about credit cards. It has taken our family several years to get ourselves out of credit card debt and it has not been fun! We are now credit card debt free and we are working diligently to keep it that way. We do have a credit card that we use for online purchases, mainly I use it to purchase curriculum and pay for school tuition.

If you do use credit cards, I think it’s important to know how to use them and I also think it’s wise to use the best type of credit for your situation. Card Guide has some very informative articles and guides to choosing the best type of credit card. Two articles that I found helpful were "Credit Card Types" and "Secured or Pre-Paid Cards".

This site also invites you to compare balance transfers and apply for their credit card if you find that it will be better for you!

We use credit card all the time. And I am fine with it. We actually only have 2. Mine and My husbands. So I guess *I* only have one...LOL.

Though credit cards work for us. I know it can be a very dangerous road for some and that our kids need to have lots of good info.

In our 15.5 yr of marriage there have only been two time that it took us more than a month to pay off our card. It took a couple months to pay off things when we were first married- honeymoon, furniture, etc..but only a couple months. and then we had some bad hail damage and our dishwasher ruined the floor all the same month- so we had to reroof and redo the kitchen at the same time. That took a couple months to pay off.

thanks for the links.
