Carmina Burana

Carmina Burana, written in the early 13th century, is a collection of more than 1000 poems and songs that make fun of the Roman Catholic Church. Between the years of 1935 and 1936, German composer Carl Orff set 24 of the poems to music. He also named his musical work Carmina Burana. You’ve probably heard this before since a bazillion bands and orchestras love to play it!

I remember playing it in high school and if I remember correctly, it kicked my butt…no, wait…actually I think it was Holst’s The Planets that kicked my butt! Yep..I’m sure of it. I think Camina Burana just made me feel powerful and that’s a pretty cool feeling for a flautist! Lol!!

This video is completely creepy...just a warning!~
