I just came across this video about 5 graduating high school students being denied their diplomas because of people cheering for them during the commencement ceremony. Apparently the students and their families signed contracts promising they wouldn't cheer so I guess "legally" they can be denied the diplomas.
This whole thing seems nuts to me! What if the student didn't cheer but the family did...why should the student be punished?? Can someone help me out here?? Is cheering your student such a bad thing?? Sheesh!

I don't think so...a child goes through 12 years (or more) or schooling, I think they deserve a standing ovation!!

I think this is just plain stupid! Why can't they cheer? Why? Oh I'm so glad my kids are homeschooled!
What a great message that sends, eh? Let's punish the student because family/friends actually cheered because of their achievements!
