Virtual Museum

One of my favorite subjects to delve into with my children is art. Unfortunately, we don’t live near any of the better know art museums. There are traveling exhibits but not often. So, when I find an online museum that is easy to navigate I am really excited!

The virtual Uffizi is just one of those museums! This museum is located in Florence, Italy and is home to over 400 works of art. The online tour is wonderful and very informative. Each piece has the information listed and then the image. Some of my favorite artists’ works can be found here….Fra Angelica, Leonardo da Vinci and Joos van Cleve are just a few of the ones I noticed. I’m really looking forward to taking some time out and checking out some of the new to me artists. I am also going to bookmark this site for our school lessons!

Of course, all of these works are so much nicer in person. If you are going to be in Florence, Italy, you must get your Uffizi Tickets and check out this museum first hand. I’m sure it’s breathtaking and will be a memory you carry with you forever. I would love to see actual artwork like these pieces….how neat!
