For Those With Little Time

Have you all seen the Movie-A-Minute site? It's completely hilarious!

There are quite a few condensed movies so I'm sure you'll find one you like. At first, I thought these were very short videos with just the highlights. But no, it's even better! These movies are summed up in 4 to 5 lines between the characters. Some of my favorites are Titanic, Matrix, and The Lion King.

There is also a Book-A-Minute site! I just read War and Peace!! This is really gonna save me soooooo much time! Cool!

Morphing!

Absolute FUN!

I’ve been playing around with the Morpheus Photo Morpher and it has been soooo much fun! In fact, this may be it for the night…no more cleaning, picking up, doing laundry, washing dishes….because I’m going to be morphing photos! Lol!

Morpheus Photo-Morpher is extremely easy to use. I had not problems at all figuring out what to do and how to actually set up the morph. The instructions are easy and the Help section was, well…it was very helpful! I appreciated the fact that there was a section on how to share your morph…I always get hung up when it comes to uploading things but this section explained it very well. In fact, I uploaded my file to YouTube with no problem…and I ALWAYS struggle with that task! Lol!! I know, I know, it’s easy but I always seem to mess up the whole process!

Not only is the morph easy to set up, it is also easy to change the speed, numbers of frames and the length of your morph. I likes this a lot because my first morph was way too fast…kind of made me woozy! Of course, that was the one where I had morphed myself into a mummy…maybe it wasn’t the speed but just the whole sick morph! I mean really, what was I thinking?? Morphing myself into a mummy…that’s sad!

If you want to check out this very cool program, then just head on over to Zoombli to learn more! Here's one of my morphs...

Best Opening Lyrics

Ok...so, maybe this is sad but apparently there are a lot of others out there who are sad like me because this has been Digged...Dugged...whatevered like a gazillion times!!

I should saved this for Thursday Thirteen but I just don't think I can hold it for that long...too many memories and laughs! lol! So, here's a few of my faves....

"You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar"
--Human League's 'Don't You Want Me'

"I was dreaming when I wrote this"
--Prince's '1999'

"Why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near?"
--The Carpenters' 'Close to You'

and of course #1 is:
"She's a very kinky girl"
--Rick James' 'Superfreak'

ok...this post has to end now because I just noticed that this site has a list of the "worst lyrics", "saddest songs", "killer b-sides" and more....yowsie!! This is my new favorite site ever and I must now spend the rest of the afternoon reading the lists and reminiscing! lol!!post signature

San Francisco Sightseeing

There have been several times that Pete and I have been fortunate enough to be able to go on a mini vacation without the kids. We had a wonderful time and were able to do some of the things that kids would have turned their noses up at…like shopping, eating at really nice restaurants, going to see historical sights, etc. Sometimes we would just venture out on our own to see what we could discover. What we found most of the time is that we needed some guidance….some kind of tour. So, Pete and I have become “tour people”….we like to go on those guided tours where we can really see the sights…instead of trying to find them on our own!! If we see something that we want to check out more, then we’ll go back after the tour.

Now, most destinations have these types of tours available. Take for example, San Francisco. If you want to get the most out of your San Francisco Sightseeing experience you will want to consider booking a tour or two. There are some really neat tours available, but the one that I would love to take is the “Napa Valley Wine Train Experience”. Now, keep in mind, I’m talking about tours for me and Pete because I know the kids wouldn’t go for this one. They would be begging to take “The Wax Museum at Fisherman’s Wharf” tour!! That would be neat too but not near as romantic!!

These are just a few of the San Francisco tours that caught my attention. Of course, we can’t journey out that way until Pete is finished with school, but after he graduates we can certainly make some plans. Until then, I’m going to sign up to receive the Trusted Tours eNewsletter so I can stay on top of new tours that become available! Neat!

Crafty Pay It Forward!

Update: No more spots! If you want to play along you can visit Summer,
Marye or Karen and see if they have a spot available!!

There's a neat Pay It Forward thingy going on across blogland. I'm not sure where it originated...maybe later tonight I'll try to track down the origin. I found out about it over at Nancy's and now I'm posting it here!

Here's how it works:

I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week… LOL… but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.

What you do: Leave a comment here. The first three to say they are participating in paying it forward I’ll send a gift to. Then they go to their blog and have three friends sign up to participate. Everyone ends up with three cool gifts in exchange for their three they send out!

Doesn't this sound like fun!!!

I'm Not Worth Much!

$4890.00The Cadaver Calculator - Find out how much your body is worth

Well, I wouldn't be helping my family out at all by being donated as a medical cadaver! And really, that's ok with me...not that I would ever know if they did but it just creeps me out thinking about it! lol!! I know that cadavers are wonderful when it comes to studying the human body and there are wonderful and generous people out there who wish for their bodies to be donated to science....that would not be me! I may change my mind though...who knows...I'm wishy washy like that! lol!

Beginning of our Skeleton Leaves

I was reading about a method used to create skeleton leaves. Skeleton leaves are those leaves that you find on wedding invitations....they are..well..they are the leaves with out all the green between the veins. Of course, I picked the wrong type of leaves but I didn't realize it until afterwards. Anyway, we poured water and bleach over the leaves and let them soak until they turned white...this took about a week. Supposedly, we were going to be able to pull the leaves out of the mixture and brush away the green (that was now white) to reveal the skeleton. When I pulled the leaves out...they completely fell apart...skeleton and all!

I give up!
