Smorty Is A Gooder!

Those of you who read this blog on a regular basis know that I have been blogging for pay since the beginning of summer. I started doing this because I wanted to be able to buy our homeschool curriculum and all the extras without asking Pete for the money. He would have gladly given me the money, but our finances are tight right now since he is in school full time and working a job at the hospital (telemetry dept) that doesn’t pay great, I wanted to provide the money and lessen the stress.

I was able to do that and more! So far, I ‘ve been able to buy our curriculum and replace our computer that crashed a few months ago. Right now I’m saving money for a laptop for our school and Christmas presents. I have been writing through several different “blog for money” sites and so far, I’ve been paid by all! That was a huge concern for me at first…

One of the companies I like to use is Smorty. In fact, I believe this company was the first one I signed up with….if not the first, it was certainly one of the first! I have found that their platform is easy to use and that the specifications for writing the ads are very clear and concise. I do use another company where this is not the case and it drives me nuts! I know with Smorty, I will be sure of my task.

I’ve also noticed lately that Smorty has been posting more opportunities and ones that I think are quite appealing and easy to write about.

If you would like to get paid for blogging then Smorty is one company you will want to check out!

Neat Frames!

Have you all seen this really neat way to show your digital photos??

I usually send my photos to Walgreens to be printed so I can put them into scrapbooks. In all honesty, this can become really expensive for me because I take a lot of pictures. So when I saw these digital photo frames I wanted to know more!

Apparently these digital photo frames are super easy to use. All you have to do is take your photos and insert your memory card into the digital photo frames. After that, all you do is grab the remote and play your slide shows. You can even add music to the background of the slide shows. The speakers are already built in so you don’t have to purchase a set in order to play the music. If you get tired of displaying your slide shows then you can watch video clips that you have taken with your digital camera. All digital photo frames are compatible with JPEG, MP4, DivX, AVI, MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, MP3, WMA, and WAV formats.

These digital photo frames are available in four different sizes…7”, 8”, 9” and 10”. Transferring your photos from your computer is really easy with the USB port. You may also download two different picture resizing tools at the site.

I think I would like this digital photo frame with the wooden frame. I would love to use one of these in my Kindergarten Science class I’m teaching this fall…it would be great to be able to run a slide show of some of the animals we will be studying! Neat!

I Want To Be a Big Fat Loser!

  • “Just one more big fattening meal ‘cause I’m going to start really eating well tomorrow!”
  • ”We can eat this ice cream tonight but after this we can’t do this…well, maybe once a month but definitely not nightly!”
  • “Look at my belt buckle…I’m down another notch”

The first two quotes are what you will often hear me say. The last quote is what I have been hearing Pete say! Yep…you guessed it! Pete’s losing weight and I’m gaining it just as fast!! I can’t let this happen…I WILL lose more weight than him…I want to be the Big Fat Loser!!

I have a weight-loss goal chosen. I need to count my carbs and I want to keep a journal. I also want to drink lots of water…I really, really don’t like water but I know it’s so good for us! When I was pregnant and had gestational diabetes, I managed myself very well and I think the key was the journal I had to keep. I’m going to be using MyFitnessPal which offers a free calorie counter where I can keep track of my food intake and exercise. This counter works well with any plan of action you have to lose weight.

And I'm going to start....at lunch! lol!!
