Repurposing a Garden Hose

I love to come across good repurposing ideas! This one is for an old garden hose...well, I think the idea is actually for a new garden hose, but of course, you can always use an old one. Basically, you take the garden hose and cut equal lengths, fold them and then clamp them together. The cut edges point upward giving you several skinny vases for flowers! Completely neat!!

I think I'll give this garden hose vase a try this spring...when it's a little warmer!

Repurposing Cereal Boxes

I love, love, love this idea I found over at eco-artware.com! You know all those empty cereal boxes we squish down and just toss into the garbage? Well, I have to admit, I don't do that all the time. There are times that I use the cardboard for templates or for "paper" for Belle to draw on...more times than not, I seem to just break the box down and throw it away. This idea is perfect for Christmas though...with the template at this site, you can create gift boxes!! How cool is that??

Handbags From Newspapers

I always like to find new ways to use items...repurposing is cool! This video is about a group of women who decided to take old newspapers and create handbags. I wonder what is done about the ink coming off the paper and what if these handbags get wet?

Fake-Up

I was just reading about Paris Hilton and the whole jail thing when I came across this news article about "fake-up". Apparently, women in jail are using skittles, Crystals light, and coffee to create make-up for themselves. After doing some quick research, I know now that this is not a new thing...just new to me! lol! I do think it's a brilliant idea though. I mean, really, that is clever! I would have never thought about using skittles at all! And guess how they get the glitter for their sparkly looks...from greeting cards!

Now, that's what I call repurposing!! lol!

Here's two recipes to make when you are out of jail! I think I'll have to try the Apricot-Orange recipe...
