It's Astronomy, Folks!

Yes...after weeks and weeks of mind-numbing analyzing, I have decided to use Exploring Creation With Astronomy. If you think I should use something else....don't tell me....I don't want to know. My decision is FINAL...hear that Sonya, don't try to tempt me to come over to the dark Exploring Creation With Botany book....I will NOT!... even if you offer me a sackful of biscuits!!

PreSchool Science Books

Here's another small, visual list of the books I want to use this year in my Pre-K Science class at our homeschool co-op. I'm going to be posting my completed topic list later this evening...well, that's my goal!

Preschool Science

I am so excited! I've been looking around for really good books to read during my Pre-K Science class I'm teaching at homeschool co-op this year. I found these three books this evening and I think they are perfect! There are several other titles in this series too!!!! WooooHooo!!

Do you know of any other books like these....you know, that would capture and keep the attention of a four year old??

How To Extract DNA...

You see, folks, this is why just love using the internet for homeschooling. It's not the only thing we use but gee whiz, there are some incredibly neat sites out there that really do add to the studies. I'm going to use the site I found today when we are studying DNA and Genes. There are a lot of virtual experiments and activities that are fun...I just became a lab assistant to a made scientist by building two huge neurons. There is also a Gel Electrophoresis Virtual Lab where you can measure and sort DNA strands! I mean, really, this site could probably be your science curriculum for the year!

Of course, it's a good idea to check the sites out before letting the kiddos on them

Preschool Science

Remember me saying that I was going to be teaching a Kindergarten Science class this year at our local homeschool co-op? Well, I’ve been moved to Pre-School Science now….so the lessons I’ve put together are a little too advanced for my littles! Soooo…I am starting over. And really, that’s ok because I love putting together lesson plans.

I’m going to start by finding some books. I want to read a story about a science topic and then do an easy craft project. I would love to find some books that actually tell a story rather than just tell about the topic. I have one book for the four seasons….it’s about four puppies who grow and as they grow they notice that the earth around them is changing. In comes a wise ol’ squirrel that tells them about Winter…and then Spring…etc.

Do you have any book recommendations for me??
