Digital Camera Love

Jake is taking a photography class this fall at Co-op. He is thoroughly loving all the different tips and challenges that his teacher is giving him. I love to see his excitement and I can’t wait to see some of the photos he’s going to capture! Wouldn’t it be neat to have a digital photo frame to showcase his work in…what a way to boost his self esteem. I just know he would be thrilled!

Now, Belle is not old enough to take the photography class, but I still let her take my Kodak digital camera out in the backyard to catch some nature shots. She will often come running in the house searching for the camera so she can “capture some nature”…that’s what she says! Lol! I would never had let her do this with the old type of cameras….that would be wasting film, right? Lol!!

Anyway, I love having a digital camera. It has given my family a neat way to be creative and appreciate the world around us!

What Do You do When Your Nose is Bleeding?

You shove a McDonald's napkin up your nose and then you go to sleep! It seems to have worked for Belle. Look at her booster seat...I think it's time to move to one that is not so tiny. Man oh man, that kid has grown....sigh

Tinkerbelle

The Tinkerbell lives at the sea. She lives with six children and a guy named Peter Pan. Once a girl flew there with Peter Pan. The little girl her name was Isabelle. She was wearing a pretty dress. These pirates came once and Peter Pan went on the ship. He flew up on the rope. He almost got killed. One more thing before I leave I want to tell you "arhhh matey".

Fan Blade Bible Memory Verse

Belle has found a clever and fun(ny) way to practice her Bible memory verses. There's nothing like shooting your words through a fan...that wiggledy voice is just too fun! You can't really hear the wiggledness of her voice in this video...you'll just have to take my word for it, it's cute. I didn't realize how close her hair was until after I watched....yowsie!!

Puzzles

I love to do jigsaw puzzles and I'm thrilled that Belle does too! No one else in the family enjoys them like the two of us do.

Puzzles are great for mental stimulation and working them keeps you sharp! It's even more fun to work a puzzle with someone you love because you are creating a lasting memory.

I've always wanted to work a puzzle then glue it down so that I had a neat picture for the wall. I've never done that though...maybe this year!~

For tonight though...Belle and I are going to enjoy working these neat puzzles online!post signature

Belle's Been Warhol'd!

My sister told me that she would Warholize a photo for me...however, I found a site where I can do it myself. I tried Warholizing Jonathan Rhys Meyers from The Tudors (yes...I'm still quite devastated that I didn't get to see all the episodes...) but...well...it took away from all of his kingliness....is that even a word? This is fun!

I'm In Love With Luke...

Belle: (whispering in my ear) I am in love with Luke.

Me: You are?

Belle: Yes! I am....but I have been pretending that I am mad at him so he won't know...

Hooooooold on there little gal....you're waaaaaaaaaay to young to be playing this game! Sheesh...

Luke is the youth director at church and he really is pretty cool. He's a lot of fun and is loved by all the kids, not just Belle! I think Belle likes Luke so much because he's always acting goofy with her and making her laugh. Isn't that what we all want? I just need her to be quite a bit older! lol!!

God's Thumbnail

Belle: Momma, you just have to come see this!

Me: What is it, Belle?

Belle: Just come, it's a surprise!

Me: ok...but what is it?

Belle: It's God's thumbnail, momma!

I just love that when she looks up into the sky and sees the moon that she immediately thinks of God. Oh to have the insight of a child.....

Jumpin' Jack Math!

What do you do with a wiggly little girl who needs to move during Math Time? You introduce her to Jumpin' Jack Math!! This is not a new idea to any of us who homeschool but it is a new idea for Belle. I have also used a similar "tool" from my arsenal of ideas with "non-stop Jake".

Here's how we do it...Belle does a section of math and then she does a set of jumpin' jacks. What's cool about this is that the benefits are threefold: 1) allows her the needed movement 2)provides exercise and 3) and extra counting practice.

This would so not be an incentive for me to do my math! lol!! Maybe little pieces of chocolate but definitely not jumpin' jacks!
